The Greater Baton Rouge Clean Cities Coalition is hosting a series of workshops for fleet owners and individuals designed to introduce them to the world of alternative fuels. The workshops will cover the hot topics of biofuels and hybrids but will also address fuel economy and heavy duty applications for compressed natural gas. The workshops are free of charge.   • Wednesday, August 23, 2006 9:00 am – 1:00 pm-
  • Biofuels – Overview of biofuels and where they may be headed in the State of - Louisiana. Specifically look at E85, B20 and low fuel blends such as E10 and B2, B5. The workshop will also look at state legislation that passed requiring the use of ethanol and biodiesel in the state’s fuel supply. Discussions will also include EPA rulings on ULSD and how biodiesel can help lubricity when using ULSD.

  • Wednesday, September 20, 2006 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
  • Fuel Economy/Hybrids – Workshop will include useful information on what fleets can do to increase their fuel economy including using smaller automobiles and “driving smart” tips. There will also be a discussion of hybrid vehicles, what they are, what’s available, how they can benefit fleets.

  • Wednesday, October 18, 2006 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
    Heavy Duty CNG Applications – Workshop will focus on heavy-duty applications for CNG. Discussions will include engine options, refueling infrastructure, and funding projects. Discussion will also include information on EPA particulate matter rulings for HD diesel vehicles and how that affects purchases made for the 2007 MY and beyond.
